Gemma joined GT Stewart as a Family Paralegal in 2026. She has a strong interest in family law and hopes to qualify as a family law barrister in the future. To further develop her advocacy and legal knowledge, Gemma has undertaken a range of additional experiences, including completing a mini pupillage with 4PB, one of the UK’s leading family law chambers. She has also spent time marshalling judges in family courts across the country, gaining valuable insight into the operation of the family justice system from the bench.
Education & Qualifications
Gemma completed her LLB and graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2023. Whilst there Gemma received the John Bowater award for her Outstanding voluntary contributions to law outside of academics. Gemma further went onto completing the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy in July 2026.
Gemma is also a Queen Mother Scholar at Middle Temple.
Notable Experience or Interests outside of Law
Alongside her legal career, Gemma serves as the CEO of Lawyers Who Care, the UK’s first mentoring programme dedicated to supporting care-experienced individuals pursuing careers in the legal profession. Through this role, she is passionate about improving access to the legal profession and championing opportunities for aspiring lawyers from care-experienced backgrounds.
Outside of work, Gemma enjoys spending quality time with her family and friend and loves to travel.
